Routes alternate between technical, playful singletracks and smoother, more runnable trails, making every run feel different. Sometimes the path climbs directly toward a summit; at other times it gently winds along the mountainside.

From Alpette, you can easily cycle down to the foot of the Colle del Nivolet, often described as one of the most beautiful mountain passes in Europe. The surrounding valleys, the nearby hills and the Po plain also offer countless opportunities for cycling.

The Orco Valley is a top destination for trad and sport climbing. Its rough rock, peaceful atmosphere and huge variety of routes attract climbers of all levels. In particular, the gneiss crack climbing is legendary and is often considered the best in the Western European Alps.

You’ll find everything here: technical slabs, vertical lines and overhanging routes. Single-pitch or multi-pitch, always set in an impressive mountain landscape.

In winter, the Orco Valley transforms into a vast landscape for snowshoeing. The terrain is suited both to gentle explorations through forests and open valleys and to longer, more demanding routes towards higher elevations. At times you follow existing trails; at others, you make your way through untouched snow. The silence, the sense of space and the alpine character turn every outing into an immersive nature experience.

The Orco Valley is well suited to ski touring thanks to its broad range of alpine terrain and reliable winter conditions. Tours typically start from the valley floor and gradually lead into higher elevations, offering significant vertical gain and varied slope aspects. Depending on route and conditions, skiers encounter open bowls, long traverses and steeper final sections that require efficient uphill technique and sound route-finding.

The absence of lift infrastructure keeps the area quiet and untracked, making ski touring here a self-reliant, backcountry-focused experience in a high mountain environment.

In Ceresole Reale, there is a groomed cross-country ski trail of approximately 17 km that runs entirely around the lake. The track is suitable for both classic and skating styles and consists of several loops, making it easy to adjust distances. The profile is mostly gentle, with only minor elevation changes, which makes it suitable for beginners as well as more experienced skiers looking to work on technique or endurance. The open setting ensures excellent snow conditions throughout the winter season.
